Transformation At The Hands Of The King

Once battered and broken

Licking my wounds

Now redeemed and reborn

Attuned and in bloom.

Once hungry and seeking

Groping for more

Now complete satisfaction

Fulfillment restored.

Once inadequate and striving

Working for love

Now value and worth

Fits like a glove

Rebellious and wild

My banner of pride

Now gladness

And submission cannot be denied

Once sad and depressed

Wanting to die

Now contentment and peace

My new kind of high

Hopeless and tired

With no end in sight

Now assured and revived

My light burning bright

Once used and abused

Tossed to the side

Now treasured and nurtured

Wholly Justified

Once rejected and alone

Struggling within

Now sought for eternal fellowship

What a triumphant win

Once dead in my sins

Now alive in His grace

His love allows me

To feel His embrace
